Winter’s Beauty

Last night we got three or four inches of snow. Snow is falling right now and it looks so pretty outside. I just got back from walking and enjoying the beauty of winter. It’s the kind of day where you enjoy being inside curled up with a book by the fire or baking some cookies or pie. It’s the kind of day when it’s nice to have nowhere to go.

I have a pot of beans simmering on the stove being flavored with a nice meaty hamhock. I have good memories of my Mom making beans the same way. Hopefully my kids will enjoy them as much as I do.

I’m so blessed to live where I get to enjoy the beauty of the four seasons God has created. It’s fun to get out and walk and enjoy the fresh fallen snow. I love seeing the trail through the woods where I walk covered with snow and no snowmobile tracks or footprints marring its beauty.

  1. I’m glad you got some snow now the boys can use those new sleds they got for Christmas that we saw on one of your sites, we are getting a little but it’s not supposed to be much. Have a great day and stay warm up there.

  2. Mmmm, the aroma of beans and ham simmering on the stove. How’d they turn out?

Do you have to watch for … certain wildlife on your walks?

  3. The beans were good, but I think I enjoyed them the most. Some of my kids didn’t care much for them. I don’t walk in heavily wooded areas unless I’m with one of my older sons or husband. I haven’t encountered any wildlife that scares me on my walks. I am treated to seeing deer fairly often.
