Zachary and I went for a bike ride this afternoon to a park by the lake. It’s the first time Zack has gone on the trail for a bike ride.

Taking advantage of another nice Spring day, I took the kids to a park after they were done with school work and some household chores. I love taking my kids to the park and watching them have fun.

It was such a nice day today. The warm, sunny day was perfect weather for a bike ride. I was so glad to be able to ride my bike again. The kids had lots of fun blowing bubbles, riding bikes, swinging and just enjoying being outside in the nice weather.

Yesterday we went to Hartwick Pines for Maple Syrup Day. We got to watch them tap a tree for sap and then observed how they boil it down into syrup. The kids enjoyed sampling some maple sugar candy.

I’m in the habit of checking the weather in the morning before I take a walk. I had to smile when I read the forecast for today – abundant sunshine and a high of 54. That’s a nice forecast for this time of year. I love sunny days. While I was walking this morning I was thinking about the joy and hope God’s children have for a bright future. It’s such a comfort to know in the midst of a fallen, sinful world full of war, strife, sorrow and suffering that a better day is coming for those who love the Lord.

It sure is nice to go for a walk without having to bundle up in winter clothing. Zachary and I walked to the lake and back on this nice second day of Spring.
