I love the different seasons God has given us to enjoy. I’m glad that today is the first day of Spring. We’re getting lots of rain right now and we’ve even seen some lightning. I’m looking forward to warmer and longer days. God has promised that as long as the earth remains the seasons won’t cease and night and day won’t cease. It’s so comforting to know that God is in control of the earth. Maybe Al Gore wouldn’t believe we face a “true planetary emergency” if he believed the promises of God. Global warming? God says heat and cold will not cease as long as the earth remains and He is always true to His Word.
Genesis 8:22 (ESV)
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

It’s only two more days until the first day of Spring but definitely still winter today. We woke up to a fresh batch of snow this morning.

Nick and Zack walked with me this afternoon. I decided not to walk this morning when it was just 15 degrees. It’s 31 and sunny now which makes for a more pleasant walk.

Nick and Zack are standing on a pile of snow that is slowly but surely getting smaller.

Enough snow has melted that the kids are enjoying roller blading and riding on their scooters again. It’s in the 50’s today and they were anxious to get outside once their school work was done. I’m looking forward to riding my bike again once more snow melts.

Zachary went for a walk with me this afternoon. It’s a nice March day. The temperature is in the 40’s and has been for the past few days. Zachary, typical 6 year old boy that he is, had fun walking through the puddles. He had fun collecting pine cones on the walk too.
There aren’t many ice shanties left on the lake. Seeing all the melting and thawing that’s taking place has me anxious for Spring.

March is definitely coming in like a lion. We’ve been getting quite a bit of snow and it’s been quite windy too. After we were finished with school this afternoon, I decided to go out and have some fun with the kids in the snow. Instead of one of my usual walks, I figured a little shoveling and pulling some of the kids around on the sled would give me plenty of exercise.

The wind had kicked up and was really blowing the snow around when I took this picture of Jacob.
