Sunny Day

I sure am enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve had lately. Luke joined me for a pleasant walk to the lake this morning.

Sun Sets on a Busy Day

Yesterday Kevin M., Nick and I went to Traverse City where Nick had an eye appointment. Kevin was able to get some driving time in and Nick got a good report from the Doctor. We ran a few errands while we were there too. After supper, Kevin M., Taylor, Luke, Jacob and I went to town for our weekly shopping. As we were driving home the sun was beginning to set. We drive by a wildlife viewing area on our way to and from town. It’s quite an interesting area. We’ve lived here for four years and yesterday was the first time we took a little time to check out this area.

J.D.’s List

It’s a tradition at our house that you get to choose the food you’d like for your birthday dinner. Josiah has a birthday coming up next month. He came to me with a list the other day and said, “this is what I want to eat on my birthday.” I thought it was cute that he made the list himself with a little help from his older brother Kevin, who helped him spell “nachos” correctly.

Wildflowers

Zack and I went for a bike ride this morning and I stopped to take some pictures of wildflowers. He informed me that we had some of the very same flowers growing in the field near our house. When we got home he showed me where they were.

Numbering Our Days

I’m not sure how many dandelion and wildflower bouquets my children have picked for me over the years but it’s been a lot. Last night while I was washing dishes, Jake, Zack and Josiah came to the door with a handful of daisies they had picked. Someday I won’t have little boys picking flowers for me, so I want to enjoy it while it lasts. Days pass quickly so I want to appreciate each day that God gives and use my time wisely.

Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Yesterday the kids enjoyed getting back outside after staying in for a couple of days because of rain. The boys had fun watching the work taking place across the road from us where a lot is being cleared.Taylor, Kristi and I went for a quick bike ride in the afternoon.

After the Rain

We’ve had some rainy days so I was glad the sun was shining this morning and I could get out and walk. I missed my walk yesterday although Kristi, Zack and I managed to get a quick bike ride in between rain showers.

The Creative Handiwork of God

As I was walking this morning, I was struck once again by the beauty, order, design and variety present in God’s magnificent creation. All around us are signs of God’s greatness.

Psalm 145: 3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
His greatness no one can fathom.
