Rainy Morning

It’s been raining off and on this morning but I was able to go for a walk, Kevin, Nicholas and Josiah went for a run and we dropped off a load of leaves while it was dry.

Even though we haul away several trailer loads of leaves in the fall there are always more in the spring after the snow melts.

Baby Shower

Yesterday we traveled to Ohio for a family baby shower for Kevin and Angelee. It was a pretty day for a drive and we enjoyed the warmer temperatures south of here. The photos I shot through our van windows don’t do justice to the scenery we enjoyed. Jacob did some of the driving and completed the rest of the time required to get his driver’s license. Luke did some driving too. Road trips are a great opportunity for them to get some practice driving in heavier traffic than we’re accustomed to in our area.

April Morning

The open water on the lake continues to increase. I love the beautiful blue water. It was a pretty morning for my walk.

What a Difference a Day Makes

Yesterday it was overcast and gray when I walked but this morning the sun was shining and the colors were vibrant.

Celebrating Easter

A couple of different friends gave our children baskets filled with Easter goodies. Saturday before Easter we colored some eggs. An extra special treat for all of us was getting to see Taylor on Saturday and having Kevin and Angelee here for Easter. We have a tradition of hiding our Easter baskets, so on Sunday morning the kids were happy to find more goodies. I woke up to some beautiful flowers from Kristi. After church we enjoyed a brunch with our church family and a delicious spread of food. Sunday afternoon our family went for our traditional walk that we’ve enjoyed for several Easters. The weather was perfect and it was good to be out together in God’s beautiful creation.

All of the celebrating we enjoyed doesn’t even begin to compare to the celebrating we’ll enjoy in God’s presence for eternity because of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I’m so thankful for the hope I have because of Christ.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” ~ John 11:25-26 (ESV)

Signs of Spring

I am seeing and hearing more feathered friends when I walk now. The trail is clear of snow with the exception of a few small patches. The amount of open water on the lake continues to increase. I’m thankful that spring, slowly but surely, has arrived!

It was a great day to be outdoors. The boys and I hiked the CCC Fit Trail. We spotted a Christmas ornament hanging on one of the pine trees.

April Snow

Just when most of our snow had disappeared, we got a fresh batch last night.
