On Thursday we traveled to St. Ignace and enjoyed the beautiful northern shores of Lake Michigan. We had a picnic lunch and of course we stopped for some fudge while we were in the area.
Camping at Higgins Lake
We are enjoying a two week vacation right now. Today we returned home from a week of camping at North Higgins Lake State Park. My Dad let us use his boat for the week so we had lots of fun going for boat rides, tubing and skiing. We had some rain the first two nights but had several days of beautiful weather. It was nice camping close to home.
Park
Zachary, Josiah and I went to town to do our shopping this afternoon. Since no one else was going to be home for supper, we grabbed some food at McDonald’s and ate at the park.
Picnic and Hike
Today is Luke’s birthday and he wanted a picnic lunch followed by a hike at Marl Lake. It’s been a beautiful day. Marl Lake is one of my favorite hiking spots. We saw chipmunks, dragonflies, and frogs.
July Morning
Luke walked with me this morning. It’s another beautiful July day. It’s hard to believe July is almost over for another year.

I think July is my favorite month of the year. We’ve had several hot days this past week so the kids and I have spent quite a bit of time at the lake. Yesterday morning I went for a walk. In the afternoon we went swimming and then in the evening we went for a bike ride. It was a beautiful day.

I got my walk in early this morning. It’s going to be another hot day today. It was quite foggy when I started my walk. The lake was calm and peaceful this morning.

I got an early walk in this morning. Now that July is here, I’m hoping for warmer and sunnier days than we had in June.
