Yesterday we took a day trip and drove to Frankfort then up M-22 to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was a beautiful day and ended with watching the sunset over Lake Michigan from Empire Bluff.
It’s been a beautiful day. We went for a hike at Marl Lake and spotted some swans, ducks, tadpoles and a snake. Zachary even found a roll of duct tape.

Yesterday we went to St. Ignace to drop Kevin M. off for his ten day hike on the Hiawatha Shore to Shore trail.
Today is Luke’s birthday and he wanted a picnic lunch followed by a hike at Marl Lake. It’s been a beautiful day. Marl Lake is one of my favorite hiking spots. We saw chipmunks, dragonflies, and frogs.

We are on vacation this week. We would have preferred an earlier fall vacation, but October was a busy month. We stayed at the lodge at P.H. Hoeft State Park near Roger’s City.
